BREAD
RECIPE:
Parmesan & Garlic Breadsticks
2-pkgs active dry yeast (1/4 oz each)
11/2-cups warm water
1/2-cup warm milk
3-tbsp sugar
1/4-cup plus 3-tbsp butter, softened and divided
1-tsp salt
41/2 to 51/2-cups all-purpose flour
1/4-cup Parmesan cheese
1/2-tsp garlic salt |

In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water
Add the milk, sugar, 3-tbsp butter, salt, and 2-cups flour
Beat until smooth
Stir in enough of the remaining flour to form a soft dough
Turn onto floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 6-8 minutes
Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease top
Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 45 minutes
Punch the dough down
Turn onto a floured surface and divide into 36 pieces
Shape each piece into a 6" rope
Place 2" apart on a greased baking sheet
Cover and let rise until doubled, about 25 minutes
Melt remaining butter
Brush over dough
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and garlic salt
Bake at 400°F for 8-10 minutes or until golden
Remove from pans and let cool on wire racks
