CANNING RECIPE:
Shaker Pickles


1-gallon sliced cucumbers
8-onions
Few slices green or red pepper
5 1/4-cups sugar
4-1/2-cup vinegar 
1-tsp alum   
1-1/2 tsp turmeric
1/3-cup salt
1 1/2-tsp mustard seed
1 1/2-tsp celery seed

Boil syrup
Cover cucumbers in jars & let cool
Shake well once a day for 6 days while in frig
Ready to eat in 6 days
Use 4 quart jars

1 gallon
