DESSERT RECIPE: Black Forest Cheesecake

1 1/2-cups chocolate wafer crumbs
1/4-cup melted margarine
2-pouches unflavoured gelatin
3/4-cup cold water
1-can (19 oz ) cherry pie filling
1/4-cup almond liquor
1- 8oz package cream cheese
1/3-cup granulated sugar
1-cup sour cream
1-250 ml whipped cream
Garish: chocolate curls

Combine wafer crumbs & margarine in small bowl
Press into 9" spring form pan
Sprinkle gelatin over water in small saucepan
Stir over low heat until gelatin is dissolved
Add 1/4 cup gelatin mix to pie filling
Stir in 2 tsp almond liqueur
Pour cherry mix over crust; refrigerate until set (30 minutes)
Beat cream cheese & sugar in bowl until fluffy
Stir in sour cream
Add remaining gelatin mix & liqueur
Fold in whipped cream
Spread over cherry base refrigerate 3-4 hrs
Remove sides
Garnish with choc curls
Can replace liqueur with 1 tsp almond extract & 1/4 cup water

12 servings
