RECIPE: Chocolate
Peanut Butter Balls
3/4-cup creamy peanut butter
1/4-cup shortening
1-1/2 cups sifted icing sugar
2/3-cup finely chopped peanuts
3/4-cup rice crispies
4-squares semi-sweet chocolate (4oz)
1 1/2 inch square of paraffin wax
Peanut halves to decorate the top |

Cream peanut butter, shortening, and icing sugar together until smooth
Stir in peanuts and rice crispies and mix well
Shape into small balls
Chill until firm (about 1 hour)
Melt chocolate and paraffin together until smooth
Dip balls one at a time in chocolate mixture to cover
Let excess drip off then place on waxed paper
Decorate with a peanut half
Store in refrigerate
Makes about 3 dozen
* The paraffin sets the chocolate and gives it a nice shine
