Kiwi Gelato

5-large kiwis, peeled and sliced
1/2-cup simple syrup (see below)
1/2-cup milk
1/4-cup whipping cream (35%)
1/2-tsp vanilla

In a food processor, puree kiwi with simple syrup until smooth
Add milk, cream and vanilla
Pulse until well blended
Pour into a clean large bowl
Cover and refrigerate completely until cold
Stir mixture and transfer to ice cream maker
Freeze according to maker's instructions

Simple Syrup
2-cups granulated sugar
2-cups water

Ina medium saucepan over medium-low heat, bring sugar and water to a simmer
Cook, stirring for 1 minute or until sugar is completely dissolved
Simmer without stirring for 2 minutes more
Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate until cold
