Sausage and Kraut

1-1/2 pounds of Kielbasa, cubed
4 pieces of bacon
2-16 oz. cans of sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
1-medium onion, sliced
1-cooking apple, diced into large chunks
2-tbsp brown sugar
4-whole cloves
2-cloves garlic, minced
1-bay leaf
1/2-tsp pepper
1-tbsp caraway seeds
1-cup Rhine wine

Fry bacon strips just until they start to render fat (don't over cook)
Remove the bacon from the pan and cut into 1/2 inch pieces
Add the onion and Kielbasa to the fry pan and sauté
Mix in the sauerkraut with the rest of the ingredients, including the bacon, and add to the pan
Cook 15-20 minutes

If you want to leave the kielbasa whole, bake the whole dish, covered for 1 hour @ 375*
