MAIN DISH RECIPE:
Sweet And Sour Pot Roast


2-tbsp cooking oil
1-Bay leaf
4-lb chuck roast
1/4-cup brown sugar
3/4-cup water
2-tbsp wine vinegar
1-onion chopped
2-cup boiling water (if needed)
1-1/2-tsp salt
1/4-tsp pepper


Heat oil in pan
Brown meat slowly
Add 3/4-cup water, onion, salt, pepper, and Bay leaf
Cover and simmer for 2 hours
Add sugar and vinegar
Cover and simmer until tender (1 hour)
Make sure it doesn't cook dry, extra water may be needed
