PASTA RECIPE:
Tortellini Sausage Alfredo

1-9oz package refrigerated tortellini (cheese or spinach flavour)
1-tsp olive oil
1/4-tsp salt
1/4-tsp white pepper
1/8-tsp garlic powder
Dash ground nutmeg
1/4-lb bulk Italian sausage
1/2-cup chopped onion
1/4-cup chopped red pepper
1/4-cup chopped fresh mushrooms
2-tbsp all-purpose flour
1 1/4-cups milk
1/4-cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/8-tsp Worcestershire sauce


In a large saucepan, bring 2 quarts on water to a boil
Add the tortellini
Cook according to package directions until pasta is tender
Meanwhile in a large skillet, add the oil
Cook
sausage, onion, red pepper and mushrooms over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain
Add in salt, pepper, garlic powder, and nutmeg
Stir in flour until blended
Gradually add the milk
Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened
Drain tortellini and add to sausage mixture
Stir in Parmesan cheese and Worcestershire sauce

Makes 2 servings
